Lunar Nodes Entering Aries & Libra

Astrologers look to your North and South Nodes to reveal where your destiny lies and what you were in previous lifetimes.

The North Node is where you are going, the South node is where you are coming from.

The North and South node are not like other aspects of the astrological chart, meaning they are not celestial bodies, but are instead coordinates. The Moon crosses paths with Earth’s orbit around the Sun at both its highest (North Node) and lowest (South Node) points. It takes the Moon just over 18 years to complete a full orbit.

Because the Nodes take 18 years to make that full “lunar orbit,” it takes 18 years for the nodes to return to the spot they were in the sky at the exact moment and location you were born. These points in our birth chart get activated every 18 years and, because these signs are opposite one another, the half-way point is notable as well.

The Lunar nodes have been in the signs of Taurus (North Node) and Scorpio (South Node), but are moving into Aries (North Node) and Libra (South Node) starting next week for 1 1/2 years; July 17, 2023 – January 11th, 2025

This period of time marks my Nodal Reversal, meaning that this is a good ‘check-point’ where I am invited to take a closer look at how the themes of my nodes are manifesting in real life.

In the natal chart, the North Node represents your potential and where you can find ultimate life satisfaction and fulfillment. It represents circumstances and activities that usually feel unfamiliar.

The South Node, on the other hand, represents your past, areas of massive talent and gifts, but also your baggage, and shows your bad habits, comfortable patterns, and emotional crutches in times when triggered or upset.

North Node Aries / South Node Libra: Autonomy, agency, independence

North Node in Aries represents a karmic drive to embrace your identity, to make your own decisions and live your own life. The South Node in Libra represents a longing for relationship. The longing is so strong and intense, that you often will try to make the connection by doing the Libra thing, trying to be the person you think your partner wants. This never works. You will find fulfilling relationships only when you embrace your own desires and wants, take the risk to be your own person and follow your impulses. Only then can the right relationship appear.

North Node Libra / South Node Aries: Partnership, collaboration, balance

The South Node in Aries represents a competitive urge – you want to win. You may do this by being defensive, combative, and competitive with others. However, you only win big when you cooperative in mutually beneficial partnerships, openly share your feelings and intentions, listen to others, and accept the help of others. You have good relationship karma — involve others in your decisions, and give of yourself, and fully participate in relationships. You only really benefit from win/win cooperative situations not win/lose battles.

Nodal Return – If you have the North Node in Aries and South Node in Libra, this is your nodal return. With this placement, Aries gives you the challenge of exerting your personal will and developing inner confidence and courage to act in your own self-interest. What feels familiar, secure, and most natural to you is pleasing others. What you really desire and where fulfillment lies is in doing your own thing. Your life’s journey is one of discovering “Who am I without you?”

Embrace Aries North Node: Stepping out as a leader, prioritizing your own goals, being comfortable alone, the rewards of risk, fighting for your beliefs, expressing your anger in a healthy manner.

Release Libra South Node: Hiding out in partnerships, being the ‘side-kick’, taking the comfortable path, avoiding challenges, being the peacekeeper, codependence, compromises, putting others first, passive-aggression, enabling.

Reverse Nodal Return – If it is reversed, like mine, with your North Node in Libra and your South Node in Aries then this is your Reverse Nodal Return. The reversal is a time of going back to basics and rediscovering the good qualities of your South Node. This is a time of learning to embody the higher frequencies of the qualities inherent of the South node.

Embrace Aries South Node: At its best is confident, quick, feisty, assertive, and has a strong sense of self. When in the higher frequency they can be respected for their willingness to go forward with projects, their can-do attitude, and their willingness to bravely stand up for what’s right.

Always,

Your Trusted Friend ❤︎
