Day Twenty-Six: Letter of Release

Writing a letter of release is a deeply personal and cathartic experience that involves expressing pent-up emotions about the person or situation that has caused anger or resentment. It is an opportunity to pour all of those feelings that are lingering within you out onto the page.
Be honest and raw. Express your anger, frustration, or disappointment without holding back. This process allows for emotional release, providing a therapeutic outlet for processing difficult emotions and gaining clarity and perspective.
By acknowledging and expressing our feelings, we can achieve a sense of closure and resolution with the past, empowering ourselves to move forward with a lighter heart and clearer mind.
Writing a letter of release can be particularly important when we struggle to let go of negative emotions or feel stuck in a cycle of anger, resentment, or hurt.
It allows us to reclaim our power and assert ourselves, making space for peace.

Writing this letter has been a revealing and empowering experience. It unearthed my anger and resentment toward this individual. Acknowledging these lingering emotions is crucial in my journey toward healing and forgiveness.
To truly forgive, I would need to cultivate compassion, recognizing that they acted out of their pain and insecurity. They are in no way justified in their actions, but I do know that they have a history of hurt, betrayal, and insecurity that fueled their actions that had nothing to do with me.
For a long time, I wanted to universe mete out what I thought was deserved for their mistreatment of me. I choose to release my desire for revenge and instead set boundaries for myself and prioritize self-love. By nurturing a deep love and respect for myself, I ensure that no one will ever be able to treat me like this individual did.
Finally, I consciously decided to forgive.
I release the negative feelings that I have held onto and the desire for retribution.
I let it all go.
Always,
