Sacred Rose

Day 11: Waning Crescent in Sagittarius

Dear Blossoming Soul,

One of the narratives I’ve revisited more than any other is the belief that I’m not good enough.

This is the story that has required the most tending. The one I think I’ve pulled up by the roots, only to discover it still opens like a trap door, dropping me into old patterns when I least expect it.

For a long time, this story served me.

It made me work harder in athletics, determined to earn my place.
It carried me through college.
It kept me disciplined. Fit. Focused.

But it also left me deeply insecure in relationships.

I compare myself to my girlfriends and find myself lacking.
I imagine myself in partnership and assume my partner could find someone better.
Not always because I’m being treated poorly, but because the story still whispers.

What’s surprised me is that knowing where this narrative came from hasn’t automatically dissolved it.

Growing up as a fraternal twin, I was constantly compared to my sister.
She was prettier.
She was smarter.
She was smaller.

She noticed it too, and it shaped her in a different way. She fell into perfectionism. I fell into proving.

Two different responses to the same message.

Today, under this waning crescent in Sagittarius, I’m not trying to fix this story or replace it with a better one. I’m noticing it. Naming it. And gently questioning whether it still deserves my belief.

This story helped me survive.
But survival isn’t enough for me anymore.

This is the tending today. Not to argue with it, but to stop living inside it

THE THORN is a natural part of the rose.

So often, we focus only on the beautiful bloom or the fragrant aroma, forgetting that the rose is not only gentle and soft.

She carries protection in her thorns, and through them she communicates her boundaries and conditions clearly.

This card encourages us to do the same: to communicate our needs and establish boundaries that keep both ourselves and others safe.

Always,
Your Trusted Friend 🌹
