Day 23: Waxing Crescent in Taurus

Sacred Rose

Dear Blossoming Soul,

I have spent a good chunk of my life trying to prove that I am worthy of love.

I remember once having the gut feeling that a partner was being dishonest with me in our relationship. Instead of confronting it, I got scared. Scared that naming the truth would cause a rupture. Scared that if I asked for clarity, I’d lose him.

So I did what I’ve always known how to do.

I made myself invaluable.
Or I tried to.

I showed up in every way I could. I made his life easier. I carried more. I gave more. I became more helpful, more accommodating, more impressive… as if love could be earned through effort.

As if I could secure honesty by being indispensable.

It didn’t work.

Because love doesn’t stay because you’re useful.
And truth doesn’t arrive because you’ve made yourself easy to keep.

Today, I’m practicing something different.

Today, I choose to be.

This is the tending today.
