My Heart

My heart has called me home.

There was a certain sheepishness as I followed her call;
I hadn’t realized I’d abandoned her throne,
leaving nothing but dust on her seat.

Stress and anxiety had lured me away,
whispering that my value lay in the lands of others.
The relentless machine of obligation overwhelmed me.
I had abandoned myself to the fear of being a disappointment.

On the winding path back, the air softened.
My steps grew lighter,
and with each stride I shrugged off a weight I hadn’t known I carried.

My heart, patient as ever, opened its doors as if I had never left.
The walls I’d built from worry didn’t crack; they melted,
replaced by a warmth and a kindness that I’d denied myself so long.

In returning, I was struck by the silence—
gentle yet profound.

It was a silence unmarked by expectation or judgment,
a quiet that asked for nothing but an invitation to stay.

How long had I been away, I wondered, to feel this reunion so deeply?
And yet, in her stillness, my heart held no grudge.

The anxieties I had nursed began to dissolve.

I realized then that the throne had never been empty; it had simply waited,
a testament to the resilience of the sacred.

My heart had kept its vigil, protecting my essence even when I had forgotten its name.

Each breath now a reminder,
a gentle invitation to sit in my own presence once more,
and honor what was left in the shadows while I busied myself with the world.

As I take my place again,
it is both a homecoming and a promise:
I will no longer let my own voice be crowded out by the clamor.

I will let my heart lead, even through the noise.

Always,
