To Be Chosen

We want to be chosen. To have someone who loves us as we are, has seen the flaws and weaknesses, and wants us because these nuances are part of what make us beautiful, and wonderful and delightful. To truly have someone see all the parts that make us uniquely us. To take the time to peal back the layers and say yes.

Held Hostage

We hold ourselves hostage in so many areas of our lives. Locking ourselves away in mental prisons. Prisons erected within our own minds, carefully built stone by stone from the wreckage of the failures of our past, the heavy stones of overwhelming anxiety that comes from the things we cannot change, and mortar of debilitation caused by the unknown.

Intentions

How beautiful living an intentional life can be, friend, and this seems an opportune time to think about the intentions we set and hold to in our lives as we approach the ending of one year, and the start of another. Our lives are full of endings and beginnings, aren't they? Both being points in… Continue reading Intentions

It is okay for us to have wants and needs, and for us to express these things out loud. It all comes down to what we believe we are worthy of, and what we choose to allow or permit.

Who. Are. You?

Who. Are. You? I punctuate this with intentionality, hoping you'll hear each stressed syllable and note each pause between words as if I was speaking aloud to you, with the wish that you understand the sincerity and seriousness behind my query. What would you say to define yourself?

Healing Something Broken

Friend, when we are heartbroken or disappointed, or in anyway feel damage emotionally, we move forward and will take any stride to protect against similar and further damage. This to me reminds me of when we suffer a physical injury, such as a broken arm. We take the time to heal to immobilize the bone so that the bone can heal.

Trigger Warning

Triggers are a tricky thing, my friend, and we seem to collect quite a bit of them over the course of living life. By the time we get through childhood, which I believe lasts well into most people's twenties, we've suffered wounding. Wounds, that when revisited, result in being triggered. Maybe you've been abandoned by… Continue reading Trigger Warning
